Mr. Hamdard attends eight meeting of “Café Democrats

December 7, 2011: Mr. Basir Hamdard, Second Secretary, and Mr. Yuki Takeda on behalf of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo attended the Democratic Party of Japan’s International Department’s 8th “Café Democrats” briefing and exchange forum for the diplomatic community in Japan at the party’s headquarters in Nagata-cho.

The session, which focused mainly on the possible establishment of a new parliamentary association, featured the participation of the following: Hon. Councillor Naoki Tanaka, Hon. Representative Koichiro Watanabe, Hon. Councillor Marutei Tsurunen, Honorable Councillor Shinkun Haku, Honorable Representative Gaku Kato, Hon. Representative Shio Aihara, and Hon. Representative Eriko Fukuda.

Mr. Hamdard took the opportunity to speak with the lawmakers, particularly mentioning the desire of the Embassy to further bolster the Japan-Afghan Parliamentary Friendship League. Mr. Hamdard and Mr. Takeda also had a chance to meet with several members of the diplomatic community.
