January 4, 2010: Ambassador Hakimi met with the newly appointed head of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)’s Kabul office, Mr. Nobuhiko Hanazato, at the Embassy. Mr. Hanazato is the newly appointed head of JICA's Kabul office.

Mr. Hanazato reaffirmed JICA's dedication to helping with the reconstruction of Afghanistan, especially in Dehsabz (New Kabul City), and in rural areas. The two discussed other possible new areas JICA could address, such as in the agriculture and energy sectors.
