Additionally, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat extended his gratitude, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan. Japan has stood with Afghanistan during the rebuilding process, helping to bring Afghanistan to its current progress & achievements, and their help to develop the human capacity holds a place of appreciation and honor in the heart of Afghans. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat updated them on the many progressive achievements in Afghanistan over the past 15 years especially those undertaken since the formation of the National Unity Government. Furthermore, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also expressed optimism for the relationship between Japan and Afghanistan becoming stronger through many avenues and asked for their support to accept Afghan students at Meijo University in order that they may receive the top quality education of the highest caliber such as he himself received when he was a student there. He again discussed with them establishing a "sister school program" between Meijo University and different universities in Afghanistan. Messrs. Yoshihisa and Yano both believed that assisting in doing so would serve as a great assistance to increasing ties between Afghanistan and Japan. Those present further discussed topics of mutual interest such as the recent speeches by leaders of allied nations planning for active steps to achieving further peace and security in Afghanistan.
