Embassy booth at Global Festa 2011 visited by star actress Norika Fujiwara, thousands of guests

October 1-2, 2011: The Embassy of Afghanistan in Tokyo welcomed the public to its interactive space at Global Festa 2011 in Hibiya Park on October 1st and 2nd. The Embassy was honored with the visit of star actress Norika Fujiwara who has been to Afghanistan in the past.

Global Festa is annually organized by by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japan International Cooperation Agency and Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation to better acquaint the public with select nations and the activities of Japan and Japanese NGOs in those nations. An estimated 110,000 guests visited Global Festa 2011.

Each year, the Embassy of Afghanistan’s booth has been one of the most popular attractions at the event, drawing thousands of visitors. This year, guests were able to acquire Afghan jewelry, clothing, and accessories with their names written in Dari as well as get henna tattoos.
