February 18, 2012: Mr. Jason Pratt, Public Affairs Officer of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, took part in the ‘Hope For Afghanistan’ seminar at Japan Women’s University Junior High School. In the first session, Mr. Pratt spoke to 42 students about the factors that caused Afghanistan’s past problems, actions taken to overcome them, and what Junior High students can do to help bring positive progress. The other speakers for the day were Ms. Yuko Mitsui of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Mr. Akihito Terao of UNESCO, Reiko Ando of NGO JEN, Mr. Fahim Nawabi, and Ms. Torpekai Sultani of Kibou no Gakkou - each spoke to a similar sized group of students.
After the individual classroom sessions, all students were brought together, and the speakers engaged in a panel discussion.
