Dr. Mohabbat visits Tottori, meets Hon. Mayor Takeuchi, views NPO ASCA’s Afghan photo exhibition

April 20, 2012: Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo, had the opportunity to once again visit Tottori city, an area with ever-increasing ties to Afghanistan.

As a key part of his visit, Dr. Mohabbat was able to call upon Hon. Mayor Isao Takeuchi. Dr. Mohabbat first and foremost expressed his sincerest condolences for the March 11, 2011 disasters both for the nation of Japan as well as for the difficulties in particular that Tottori and its citizens have faced in relation. In addition, Dr. Mohabbat expressed, on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan, deepest gratitude for the cooperation that Tottori has extended towards reconstruction and the improvement of lives in Afghanistan.

Together with Hon. Mayor Takeuchi, Dr. Mohabbat also visited NPO ASCA’s Afghan photo exhibition in the city. NPO ASCA is helping to support the strengthening of Afghanistan’s education sector, and seeking to build awareness in areas such as Tottori of Afghanistan, its progress, and its future plans for further improvement. The exhibition ran from April 14 – 22.
