Regional Refugee Conference Held in Kabul

KABUL, November 20 (www.quqnoos.com): Five million refugees have returned to Afghanistan since 2002, according to the UN. Of the remaining three million refugees, up to a million could return by 2013, according to Foreign Minister Spanta.

The figures were released at an international summit on Afghan refugees which began in Kabul on Wednesday. Representatives from 30 countries attended the event.

Foreign Minister, Dr. Rangin Spanta, called for an additional $509 million to help resettle, educate and care for returning refugees.
