Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) NewsDr. Abdullah Fahim Ministry of Public Health Spokes Person Email Address: fahima@moph.gov.af Kabul, January 4, 2009 Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS), a successful strategy for Primary Health Care in Afghanistan, was started by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in Afghanistan. MoPH has hired 40 national and international NGOs to deliver BPHS services to 31 provinces of Afghanistan. In the remaining 3 provinces, BPHS is delivered by MoPH through a “Strengthening Mechanism.†BPHS has covered around 85% of Afghanistan’s rural areas. 450 medical doctors from Kabul Medical University and other universities will be trained in Public Health in 2008. |
