Government Provides Temporary Job Opportunities to 220,000 People

KABUL, Feb 11 (Quqnoos): Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) Mohammad Ehsan Zia announced the start of 3,555 developing projects all across the country.

The MRRD said, these projects - worth Afg3.31 billion - will be implemented in all provinces within three months.

220,000 people will directly benefit from these projects and an additional one million individuals will benefit indirectly.

The MRRD planned more than 12,000 projects last year, of which more than 700 projects have been completed to date.

The projects include the construction of roads, bridges, retaining walls, hospitals, schools and educational centers as well as water projects and small hydro-power projects.

The minister of MRRD said they are also undertaking the responsibility of supplying food for vulnerable areas and opening snow-blocked roads in the farthest regions.
