MCIT facilitates 15000 digital lines in Mazar-e-sharifJuly 12, 2009 (Ministry of Communication): In the series of Telecom and ICT development in the country, Ministry Of Communications and IT inaugurated 15000 digital lines in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif of Balkh Province. The ceremony was organized in the city of Mazar-e- Sharif on May 09, 2009 attended by H. E. Minister Sangin, Minister of Communications and IT, H. E. Governor Atta Muhammad, Governor of Balkh Province, Senior officials of MCIT and Afghan Telecom, member of Balkh Provincial council as well as residents of the Mazar City. At the beginning, H. E. Minister Sangin, Minister of Communications and IT addressed the gathering and said that MCIT hopes to inaugurate the same kinds of projects in all provinces of Afghanistan and they want the people of Afghanistan of any area and province to have access to these kinds of telecom and ICT facilities in the country and added that they will try their best to cover all the population area of the country by telecom and ICT services. Subsequently, Governor Atta Muhammad, the Governor of Balkh Provinces, first welcomed the delegation of MCIT and thanked the MCIT for their tireless efforts in terms of remarkable developments of telecom and ICT in the country and underlined that their telecom and ICT requirements have been met sufficiently by both the MCIT and the private sectors in the city. Five thousands of these lines have been extended in the Ariana town of the city and the remaining ten thousands have been facilitated in the rest of the Mazar city. According to the MICT officials, the total cost of this project is 4.36 MUSD that have been paid through the developmental budget of the Ministry of Communications and IT. In closing, H. E. Minister Sangin, Minister of Communications and IT and Governor Atta Muhammad together inaugurated the digital lines by cutting the ribbon. |
