President Karzai Leaves for Saudi Arabia

February 2, 2010 (Office of the President): H.E. President Hamid Karzai left Tuesday morning on a visit to Saudi Arabia to perform 'umrah' (minor hajj ritual) and to meet with King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

President Karzai is scheduled to discuss several issues of mutual interest with the King, including the current situation in Afghanistan, the region, reconciliation issues and the role of His Majesty and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia therein, as well as other issues within the Muslim World is facing. The President is accompanied on his visit by senior government officials and Jihadi leaders.
