Investment group seeks construction of 'New Kabul'

Kabul, October 28, 2004 - The Afghan Investment Commission, headed by Minister of Commerce Sayed Mustafa Kazemi, yesterday met and discussed the construction of a new city to be named Neway Kabul (New Kabul) near Deh Sabz at a cost of some $2 billion. The Commissioners also approved the construction of a five-star Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul and the establishment of the Afghan National Bank with a total budget of 250,000,000 Afghanis or around $5.5 million.
